Jackeline Martinez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1981 and immigrated to the Bronx in New York when she was eleven years old. She attended the High School of Fashion Industries where first discovered her love for jewelry. Jackeline Martinez received her A.A.S from the Fashion Institute of Technology, her B.F.A from S.U.N.Y at New Paltz and her M.A from Kean University. She has learned to work with various different metal working techniques such as wax carving, forming, chasing and repousse, among others. She currently works as a chaser and Silversmith at Tiffany & Co. where she has expanded tremendously her knowledge in different metalworking techniques. In addition to her art-making Jackeline teaches chasing and repousse workshops at the Newark Museum. She currently resides and maintains a studio in Jersey City, NJ.
